Tesco Future Farmers visit Branston’s Lincoln site
Learning about potato supply from field through to fork
On Wednesday (19th September) Branston hosted a Supplier visit for 17 of the young farmers on this year’s Future Farmer Foundation programme. This Tesco-supported initiative takes up to 50 applicants each year, from the farming industry and offers a wide-ranging programme designed to enhance their business skills and help them learn more about being a successful Tesco supplier.
After an introduction to Branston they went out to the field to investigate some of the impacts of this season’s weather, then following a baked potato lunch they toured the factories. They rounded the day off with some consumer panel testing on some potential new products – a real farm to fork experience!
