Tato visits our South West site
Our sponsored Guide Dog puppy is now 5 months old
This week Tato (the guide dog puppy we've named and sponsored through training) visited our South West site, where she enjoyed practising her social skills with some of our people. She's five months old now and lives with her puppy raiser, Dawn. At this stage it's all about learning the basic skills whilst having fun. Play time is also incredibly important to guide dogs and is actively encouraged by the Puppy Raising team.
Dawn said that Tato is a wonderful, sweet little puppy who has settled very well into their family and is already best friends with their pet dog. Tato's current favourite toy is a giant knotted rope, which she likes to throw about and chase. Because Tato is currently teething, she also really likes treats she can chew on, such as bamboodles and rice bones. At bedtime, Tato cuddles up with her favourite white Teddy bear, which Dawn says is very cute to see.
Dawn said fondly that Tato is a real bundle of fun and she never fails to make her laugh. For example, Tato likes to sleep on her back with her legs straight up in the air, which looks very funny, but presumably she finds it comfortable!
Dawn's three words to best describe Tato at the moment are 'happy, inquisitive, and playful'.
