Talking tatties at the Fife Show

On Saturday (19th May) a team from the Scotland site went along to the Fife Show. In contrast to last year, it was a gloriously hot day and it turned out to be one of the busiest shows ever.

As well as sponsoring the Cookery Theatre, Branston had some space in the Kids Countryside tent which gave us a great opportunity to ‘talk tatties’ with children of all ages. They enjoyed ‘feeling the odd one out’ in the feely boxes and learnt some new paper-folding skills with our Potato Joke Snappers and Mini Potato Boxes as well as having a go at sorting out different varieties of potatoes.

From the adults, there was a lot of interest in what happens in the Abernethy potato factory as well as lots of questions about the best varieties to use and how to grow potatoes, which the team was more than happy to answer.
