Celebrating Open Farm Sunday at the Holkham Estate
Having a fun time taking spuds back to the farm for Open Farm Sunday
On 10 June a team from Branston went along to support Open Farm Sunday at the Holkham Estate. We were among several agri-businesses there to add interest and education, along with a range of big farming machinery and farm animals.
The estate was running its ever-popular tractor and trailer rides that took in a tour of the farm as well as providing some exciting sheepdog and livestock displays. We provided a range of hands-on fun for children (of all ages) to enjoy, including our Feely boxes, Slugs & Sprouts and Sock a Spud games along with some educational activities to show different potato varieties, growing potatoes and mini beasts.
It was an extremely popular event, with around 3,000 visitors overall and families coming from across Norfolk and beyond. It was great to be invited to get involved with Open Farm Sunday. It was a fantastic opportunity to engage with the public to help them learn more about what we do.
