Branston presents fundraising cheque to St Barnabas
£13,314.53 for Charity of the Year 2019
This week the team at Branston’s Lincoln site presented their charity fundraising total from 2019 to St Barnabas Hospice. They raised a fantastic £8,876.35, which was topped up by the business to £13,314.53.
Members of the team took part in a range of fundraising activities throughout the year – from tackling the Samworth Challenge, the St Barnabas Colour Dash, Kat’s 200 mile Trek and the Lincoln 10K to all sorts of on-site bake sales and raffles.
St Barnabas was chosen as the Lincoln site’s Charity of the Year following a vote by staff. They were keen to support this worthy cause, which has provided support and palliative care to so many local people when they have needed it most.
Mike Pastor, challenge events fundraiser for St Barnabas, said: “We’re very grateful to the Branston team for their fundraising for us throughout 2019. They’ve raised a significant sum – in fact it’s enough to fund 19 days of inpatient care in the Hospice for a patient or 106 Hospice at Home nurse visits to patients in their own home.”
James Truscott, Branston MD added: “The Lincoln site chose St Barnabas Hospice as their Charity of the Year for 2019 so that we could really focus on pulling together and making a difference. We’re very proud of the effort that’s been put in by our people here. St Barnabas is a charity that evokes strong feelings of support and many of our staff have been close to someone they’ve helped.”
